Congratulations to Texas Spirit 94 White and Coach Eddy. They won their bracket and qualified for Division III in Lake Highlands Girls Classic League.

North Division Sweeps into Lake Highlands

The Texas Spirit North 97's and 98's are both headed to Lake Highlands after the first weekend of Qualifying. The 97 North team won all three games in impressive fashion, they did not allow any goals against and finished with the highest point total of all 97 teams.

The 98 North squad also qualified for Lake Highlands by making the gold bracket in the second weekend of qualifying. They will be playing next weekend to see what Division they will be playing in.

Congratulations to both North teams and coach Sid.

Welcome to the Club

The Signing Party was lots of fun, giving the new players to the club a chance to feel like part of the Spirit family. The dunking booth was packed as the girls lined up to dunk their coach. The hardest shot contest was also a hit, winners are posted here.

Good luck to all teams in the coming season!

TX Spirit 98 White competed in the U9/U10 Girls Academy Division 11v11 at the 2008 Cup Championship hosted by Primetime Sports at Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. The tournament was round-robin format on the weekend of June 28 which was scorching hot!  But that didn’t get the team down.  TX Spirit 98 White won with penalty kicks in the final game against the Longhorns to claim the championship. Great work Ladies!

Love Me Deux

Texas Spirit 93 Red is loving their 2nd Shawnee Trail Shootout Tournament Championship in a row. The girls played up in the 92 Division in the tournament this year held May 16th thru 18th. The girls tied their first game with ASG 92 Gold Central, fell just short of a great comeback in a 3-4 game against DFW Tornados 92 Blue, and beat Liverpool FC America 92 to advance to the Finals in a rematch with ASG 92 Gold Central. The Finals Game was an evenly matched battle for 70 minutes before the girls scored on a corner kick and went on to win 1-0!

Congratulations 93 Red for defending your championship title. We look forward to championship number trois in 2009!

Surprise Training Session in the North

Photo_3__large

To say the north coaches are full of hot air was not to far off the mark last week. In the middle of the ’96 training session there was an emergency landing of a hot air balloon. The weather had turned a bit breezy and the balloon was being blown off course and into air traffic at DFW. The soccer fields at the Lewisville YMCA was a perfect spot for the balloon to land. The girls had a lot of fun and the balloon captain was very nice and let the girls help pack up the balloon.
