Camps

Over the past few years we have refined our format to achieve 3 main goals:

1 – Make sure the kids have loads of fun. (Enjoyment)

2 – Create a great learning environment that advances the player (Development)

3 – Provide a soccer camp for beginners, intermediate and advanced players. (Competition)

The camps are designed and organized with these 3 elements involved in the planning of all activities. We believe that camps should be fun and that the players need to advance their abilities in the process.

Each day of the camp focusses on a particular aspect of the game. For example, on Mondays, we focus on Dribbling. (see Camp Format for more detail). We teach the topic of the day based on the ability of the group. I.e. Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced. Therefore players are mainly devided up based on their ability. However, we can be reasonably lenient based on age and gender if requests are made for certain players to be together.

Our method of teaching involves a group Demonstration and Explanation of the particular teaching. Then we make sure the campers receive repititions of the teaching and the instructors provide individual attention to the campers to refine their efforts.

After the group has had sufficient practice, we formulate an activity where the campers need to apply their newly aquired skill to win the particular game. We facilitate games as realistic to the real game to maximize the concept of "the game is the teacher".
